Summer Fun Part 2

We have been having a lot of fun this summer.  I've so enjoyed having all three kids home all day and am soaking up the last few weeks before we start our first year of real school for Lucy!!!

We've enjoyed some awesome programing at the library.  Here we went to see a comedian/magician and Lucy got called up.  It was an awesome show and I continue to be amazed at what a great resource the library is.

We've caught lightening bugs...

Gone to T-ball practice...

Gone out with or new life group.... (at Wolf Creek Winery)

Gone to a Lake Erie beach...

Played dress up...

Grown up (a ton!!)
(the above picture is actually pretty old, but at the time June looked so old to me in her sneakers, big girl chair and using a spoon... she actually has a lot more hair now!)

Played with friends...

Dressed up pretty...

Gone strawberry picking...

Played in the crib...
Almost every day Hank goes in to wake June up and plays with her in her crib for awhile.  They are too sweet together.  June has finally warmed up to her brother and sister and absolutely loves playing with them.  It is a joy to watch.

And we've invented new game...
We like to keep things busy and fun-filled here at the Wehner house!

Lake Weekend

A few weekends ago we were lucky enough to get to spend the weekend at two different lakes.  We have some pretty awesome friends.  Originally we were invited to our friend's, the Elliot's, cabin and we were looking for a way to split up the drive.  When I asked Katy if we could do a mid-week trip to Wawasee since it was a good mid-way point, she obliged and our schedules aligned to have two fun-filled, lake-filled trips.

A few highlights from wawasee...
(June got on the boat and crawled right up onto b-bop's lap. This girl loves men for some reason.  I can't explain it, but she was happy, so it works!)

 Watching a swan family.

It was pretty cold most of our stay, but we found ways to stay entertained, like doing puzzles and eating lots of food! We did swim a bit... and by we I mean Ben and Katy.  Lucy asked Katy to go tubing with her, so I took that opportunity to stay huddled warm in the boat.
Thanks Aunt Katy and Uncle Bop for an awesome time!!

Next up we traveled north to Pentwater, Michigan.  We had never been to Pentwater but we fell in love instantly.  The view from the cabin is gorgeous.  The home is on a lake with a canal that connects to lake Michigan and the town is adorable.  It was like beautiful!

Luckily the weather turned and we had a couple days of sunshine that we fully enjoyed!

The view from the deck.... it was unreal!

Saturday morning we drove in to town, played at the beach a bit and then got ice cream.

Saturday night we went to a "Fish Boil" which was a really fun, yummy way to dine at a farm with a story, an explosion and some good food.

The kids were both kind of apprehensive on the boat when we started the week.  But Lucy especially seemed to warm up very fast.  In fact, so fast that we thought we'd try skiing with her and she obliged.  Unfortunately I think we started the boat up too fast and it freaked her out a bit.  She vowed to never go skiing again, but I'm hoping she'll change her mind next year!  I am so proud of her for even trying though... she is such a brave girl!
Thank you Elliot's for an amazing weekend!

One last video from our road trip, keeping June entertained...

Our Summer Staycation

Ben's parents offered to watch our kids a few weeks ago, so we got to spend some time away from the kids and explore Akron/Cleveland and go to a lot of places we have been dying to try since moving here.  We started the weekend with appetizers in the backyard and walked over to Ken Stewart's Steakhouse down the street. We went to Melt Bar and Grill on Saturday on our way up to Cleveland for an Indiana's game.
On of our friend's, Pam, generously invited a group of us up to her parent's suite for a game.  It was the perfect way to enjoy a game! After the game we went out in Cleveland and stayed the night downtown with our friends.
The next day Ben and I drove to Geneva on the Lake.  The town has some beautiful and fun parts, but also has a bit of a weird downtown.  We had the best time renting a tandem bike, riding to the beach, and visiting a winery (all things on the edge of town).  We did walk through the downtown for the experience, but both agreed it was a little too much!

We ended the night with a drive-in movie! We had so much fun together and loved exploring our town a little more than we can without the kids.

Summer Fun

We've had a busy summer! These pictures highlight a bit of the business...

Birthday fun! We celebrated my birthday with some donuts left by Ben!

We spent a weekend in Indy.  We officially went home for Father's Day, but it was really just a visit for fun.  We hadn't been home since Christmas so it was nice to see family and friends, although it was crazy busy as usual.  Here is Lucy getting her nails done with me and Mimi...

We had a great big tree removed and the kids enjoyed eating their breakfast and watching the men work.

I went to a Beth Moore conference in Cincinnati.  I drove down with a couple girlfriends from Akron, Megan and Lori, and met the old Bible study girls from Indy.  It was a fun, whirlwind of a weekend! And yes, Beth is just as glorious in person as she is on DVD!

Oh, and we did a little outlet shopping on our way home.  Here is Hank showing off one of his new outfits...

Lots of baths after long nights playing outside with the neighbors...

Lots of popcorn and movies during the first part of our rainy summer...
And of course lots of snuggles with this little one...
 Having fun this summer!

4th of July Fun!

My mom and Jadyn and Jordyn came out to visit for the 4th of July.  We had a fun filled weekend including: Jadyn's first drive-in movie (we took her to see Jurrasic World), a hike at Brandywine falls and visit to Szalay's, a fireworks show (while Mimi watched June), our neighborhood parade, and a cookout with our neighbors.

Here are a few highlights from the weekend...
