Hank's Birthday Party

We celebrated Hank's birthday this year with a football party (again)! I'm beginning to realize that my kids just want to do exactly what they did the year before... I don't know if it's because their birthdays were so awesome that they just want that same experience, or what, but Hank wanted to have pretty much the same party he had when he turned 4. So we obliged!

His request - a football party with his uncles and cousins. We ended up having beautiful weather and got to play football outside for a bit before food and presents inside.

A football game came on shortly after we came in so we lost the attention of a few of the party guests, but we continued the fun outside trying out a few new presents!
We really lucked out with such beautiful weather!!

So thankful for boy cousins that live close and can wrestle Hank a bit!! These boys love hanging out with each other!
We had Hank's birthday party on Saturday but his actual birthday was Sunday. So after driving back to Akron we went out for pizza and ice cream to celebrate some more.
Maybe the ice cream wasn't such a good idea, because after we got home and tried to settle down and watch a movie, Lucy and Hank ended up running around the house in the dark and Hank ran into the kitchen table (ironically the same table June ran into when she had to get stitches).
So we spent the final hours of Hank's birthday in the emergency room getting 4 stitches. And $1,500 later, he's all stitched up! He was a champ... didn't cry the whole time. The suture team was great and made it so he didn't feel or see a thing. We are thankful to be so close to such a great children's hospital... but I suppose I could have done without the steep bill!!!
