October Highlights

October was definitely one of the busiest months we've had here in Akron yet! Here's a peek into all the craziness in our lives...
We got a new patio!!! Which meant about two weeks of having workers in and out of our backyard.  Here it is in the beginning stages.  The area that is being dug up was formerly grass and pachysandra.

Lucy and Hank played in a soccer league... I forgot to get pictures at the games, but Emily took pictures for me that I will post later.  Here I was hanging out with my buddy Juney.

We hang out with our neighbors Estella and Mason every Friday afternoon.  It's one of the kids favorite times and mine too - Estella and Mason are such great playmates, I barely hear a peep out of this crew the whole time they are over! (In exchange, their grandmas bring Lucy home the rest of the week so I don't have to wake June and Hank up from naps... it works out great!)

We went to an Indian's game with our preschool friends in the Hargrove suite...

We went to Stan Hywet for Ohio Mart.  We received free tickets this year, although Ben had never been to Stan Hywet, so we mostly toured the grounds and didn't do much shopping at the vendors.

While the patio was being built, we also decided to tackle having a portion of the basement finished.  I had some concerns about chipping paint and since we host life group kids in our basement every week I wanted to make sure the area was safe.  We ended up deciding just to cover up the peeling walls and now have an extra finished room in the basement.

Two major house projects meant for a crazy couple weeks!!

But lots of entertainment for the kids!

But we still fit in time for a few snuggles...

And of course a pumpkin patch...

Or two....

The finished product(s)!

This video captures the kids personalities so well.  Lucy giving orders and organizing the fun, June trying to keep up but also doing her own thing, being a goof ball.

The kids played out on the patio as soon as it was finished, even though it was chilly outside. Lucy said they needed some hot chocolate to help warm them up.  First hot chocolate of the season!

Lucy and I had a girls day - we went to breakfast, did a little shopping, got our hair cut and even fit in a play date with one of her school friends.  It was the perfect day with my little princess.  I love being with her so much!

Our neighbor gave us some pickles and somebody has been digging in....
