The kids received a membership to Stan Hywet, a famous mansion here in Akron, so we made several trips there this summer. It was a great place to take out of town guests that was interesting for adults and the kids alike!
The kids found a frog!
We mad a couple trips up to the science center this summer as well. On this day we met a friend and explored a ship that has been turned into a museum. The kids had fun but I was a little stressed about the steep stairs and heights!
On another night we headed up to the Indians game. Ben's company had tickets but we ended up spending most of the time at the kids club. The kids ended up having a blast playing with all the baseball stuff, but we didn't end up watching much of the game!
The kids got passes to skyzone through Grace basketball camp so we ended up going to skyzone one rainy day in the summer when I was watching a friend's kids. Hank was a beast on the jacob's ladder... he easily made it to the top on the first try when every other kid was getting knocked over at the beginning. He is our little monkey!
Lucy, being my determined little girl, had it mastered by the time we left!
The pool was such a favorite for the kids and I, we rarely did anything else with a free day. One day we did try a little touch a truck event but it was super crowded and hot and June ended up bonking her head... so we decided to leave and head to the pool! I learned not to try to reinvent the wheel... the JCC is good, so that was usually our go to!
Our Bible study took a bit of a break this summer - we did a social activity alternated with regular group throughout the summer. So we kind of had a week on and a week off. We had a lot of fun at the various social events, but one of my favorites was kayaking down the Cuyahoga river! We had a great time together!
Another trip to Stan Hywet with grandpa and grandma!
Pool party at the JCC! Even Ariel made it...
I can't remember what the above picture was from, but I think I was just loving June in her hat... somedays I just can't get enough of that girl!
We also dog sat for a week this summer. The kids took on lots of the responsibility and we ended up splitting the money that our neighbors paid us. We had so much fun hanging out with Fritz!
Another fun day at the library... we went to see the bubble maker and the kids got to stand inside a HUGE bubble...
And finally, what I love most about summer... these three... together... and the sweet moments they spend together. Not every day or every moment was like this, but there was enough of this sweetness to keep me going through the whole summer. I love these three so much!
