May Happenings

Beyond my mom's birthday and end of school parties, we also had a lot of other fun in May...
Fun at a few parks! We were so impressed Hank could do those monkey bars!

brother and sisterly love

I was so proud of Hank! We implemented a new allowance system in our home. The kids get $1 a week now and they are expected to help with a few chores every day. Hank saved and saved and bought himself this remote control car. It was $20, which may not seem like a lot... but at only $1 a week that took a long time to save! It was fun to watch him take ownership of his money and spending and to reap the benefits of being patient!

Weather was warming up, sun was shining and this girl was taking advantage of our  new hammock! Love how much she loves to read.

Ice cream truck fun with friends!
Our church hosted a race and our family all ran together, it was really fun! We all ran 1 mile together, I ran a 5K afterwards with a friend, and then we had a family fun run at the end that was basically just walking through a bunch of obstacles with the kids.

Lucy had a 2nd grade award ceremony - she received an award for reading... which we of course agreed with! She is such a strong reader and student I'm so proud of her!

June was being... well, June...
Love this girl and her sense of style
Ben and I went on a fancy date night. We had been trying to each plan a fun, one of a kind date each month but since this night and the craziness of summer we've fallen a bit behind. Hopefully we'll pick back up this winter! On this night we went and had dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse downtown and then walked to get ice cream afterwards. It was fun to do something so fancy just because!
Bagel date with my girls! Not sure what the occasion was, but on this random Saturday the girls and I got bagels together and it was so sweet to spend some time with just the two of them.

Boys being boys...

The weather was heating up and our yard was finally fixed up after weeks of yard projects!!

And it was finally warm enough to fill up the backyard pool!
