After a few presents, sprinkle pancakes and celebrations in the morning, Lucy headed off to school with favor bags for her friends and a special lunch (she asked for a lunchable)! We picked her up a couple hours early from school and headed for Columbus for her birthday celebration!
This year Lucy asked to go to the American Girl Doll Store instead of a party, so of course I went a little overboard with the hotel stay! We scheduled a tea at the store, got Lucy a new outfit to wear to the tea and a sleepover kit for her doll (thank you target for having cheaper options!), invited JJ and Mimi to join, and got a special American Girl Doll cake.
I was thinking not having a party was the cheaper route, but after booking the hotel and buying all the goodies I think I may have spent a little too much on this year's celebration! It was hard not to be excited about having tea with my big 7 year old girl!
Hank and June stayed back to swim with Ben while we headed off for tea!
The Columbus store was perfect! Not too big, not too crowded or overwhelming. Lucy was allowed to get 1 thing and she chose to get her dolls ears pierced. And my mom bought her a little swimsuit set for her doll. Luckily we didn't spend too much within the store and Lucy was perfectly happy with that. She didn't whine or complain about all the stuff she didn't get!
After tea we headed back to the hotel for swimming, pizza, presents and cake! We had so much fun celebrating together!
