Hank's 2nd Birthday

Hank's birthday was much more low key compared to the other birthday's our kids have had, but due to living in Akron and the proximity of his birthday to our Thanksgiving travel plans, it just didn't make sense to do a big party.  I did however try to choose a bunch of activities that I thought Hank would love and just spend a fun day loving on my little man.  I think he had a good time!
A few things I didn't account for - Hank throwing up the night before at 3am, a huge snow storm hitting Akron the afternoon of his birthday and the fact that indoor bounce house play places in Akron are only open for parties... sigh...
Despite all of those things we still had a great day.  Hank ended up acting fine most of the morning (despite getting sick) so we started our day with sprinkle pancakes and some balloons, headed over to the mall after getting Lucy from preschool to play and ride the train (one of his favorite things to do) and then we opened presents, went to chuck e. cheese for dinner, and had cupcakes at home.

This year we got Hank a pair of Elmo PJs and a back pack.  He has worn the Elmo PJs and seemed excited about those, but the back pack has yet to peak his interest... hoping it's a gift that he can use over the next year/s to come.
Hank also got lots of presents at home - hat and gloves, a fire engine with blocks, some trucks, a set of blocks, a new sweater, a train set with his name, some tiny cars, a basketball hoop to go on the back of his door, a night-night elmo, a leap frog letter factory, a car puzzle, and his favorite... some money for college :)

A few videos from his actual birthday...
